Setting up the 24h Turnover Screener

The screener watches the dollar turnover of the last 24 hours and notifies you when it changes sharply. This is not the volume bars on your chart: candle volume is something the screener never sees.

Turnover shows how much money actually went through a coin. A price move without turnover usually means an empty order book rather than market interest — which is why turnover is often used as confirmation rather than as a signal of its own. Below is a walkthrough of every field: click an item and it lights up.
The key distinction in this form is between daily and minute turnover. The first scenario measures percent of the rolling 24-hour turnover: shifting that by tens of percent takes an inflow comparable to a whole day. The other two work with turnover over the last minute and react to a spike immediately.
Scenarios
When should this screener fire?
2 of 3
Volume change
Fires when 24h turnover changes by the specified % over the selected interval
Amount 15 %
Timeframe 1 Hour
Per-minute volume
Fires when the trading volume for the last minute (in USDT) crosses the threshold. Per-minute volume is estimated from the difference between consecutive 24h-volume snapshots.
Per-minute volume threshold 0,5 millions $
Spike vs average
Fires when the per-minute volume is N× higher than its 20-minute rolling average. Adaptive to coin liquidity — the same multiplier works for BTC and for thin altcoins alike.
Spike multiplier 5 ×

24h turnover screener trigger scenarios

Of the three scenarios the most universal is the spike against the average. It compares minute turnover not with an absolute threshold but with the moving average of the same coin over the last twenty minutes. One multiplier therefore works equally on BTC and on a thin altcoin: each has its own normal level.

Limits: how many turnover signals you are willing to read

A turnover spike is almost never a single event: the first abnormal minute is usually followed by several more. Limits matter here even more than in the price screener.

Filters: which coins to measure turnover on

The spike multiplier alone does not protect you from junk: on a coin whose normal minute turnover is two hundred dollars, a five-fold spike is a thousand. The minimum daily turnover cuts such pairs before they ever reach the scenario.

Ready-made setups

These are the same sets applied with one click in the screener settings. The values below are exactly what gets filled in.

Strong Trend Confirmation

+50% in 1 hour

Period
720
Pause between alerts per coin
360 min.
Which market to watch
all
Min. Open Interest Value
5 M $
Min. Exchange 24h Turnover
10 M $

Logic: Look for coins with sustained volume inflow over an hour — a sign of "smart money" interest.

Post-Breakout Entry (Swing)

from $3M per minute

Per-minute volume threshold
3 M $
Period
240
Pause between alerts per coin
120 min.
Which market to watch
all
Min. Open Interest Value
5 M $
Min. Exchange 24h Turnover
10 M $

Logic: After a price breaks a level, a volume surge confirms the breakout — signal to enter expecting continuation.

Big Prints

$5M traded in one minute

Per-minute volume threshold
5 M $
Period
360
Pause between alerts per coin
180 min.
Which market to watch
all
Min. Open Interest Value
5 M $
Min. Exchange 24h Turnover
10 M $

Logic: in a single minute the coin traded five million dollars more than in the same minute a day earlier. Volume like that almost always means a large participant at work.

Scalping on Activity Spikes

×15 vs a normal minute

Spike multiplier
15 ×
Period
240
Pause between alerts per coin
240 min.
Which market to watch
all
Min. Open Interest Value
5 M $
Min. Exchange 24h Turnover
10 M $

Logic: Catch moments of extreme short-term activity — such coins often continue moving in the next few minutes.

Any set is a starting point, not a recommendation. Once applied the thresholds are yours: move them and the screener starts counting the new way immediately.

Common mistakes when setting up the 24h turnover screener

  • Large percentages in the first scenario. Those percentages are measured against daily turnover. A five-hundred-percent threshold means the coin traded five times more in the chosen window than in the whole previous day — which almost never happens.
  • A multiplier with no liquidity filter. The most common source of signals about coins you have never seen.
  • Turnover as the only signal. A spike says something is happening, not which way. Direction comes from price.
