Funding rate extremes
Pairs with the largest |funding rate| across the tracked exchanges. The sign tells you who pays: positive — longs pay shorts, negative — the other way around. Extremes often precede reversals.
Highest rates
Top-25 pairs with positive funding. Longs pay shorts — the market is overheated to the upside. Often a correction signal; shorting on an extreme funding has historically given good R/R.

Lowest rates
Top-25 pairs with negative funding. Shorts pay longs — market panic. Often a bounce signal; longing on extreme negative funding gives better R/R than buying the trend.

Funding rate is the fee between sides of a perpetual futures contract, keeping the perp price close to spot. If the perp trades above spot, longs pay shorts a positive funding every 8 hours; if below, shorts pay longs.
Funding by itself does not predict direction — it's an overheating indicator. At extremes one side's positioning is too crowded, and a small counter-move can trigger a cascade of liquidations the other way. That's why experienced traders often open counter-trend positions at funding extremes.
The APR column shows annualised funding — equivalent to «percentage per year for holding the position». A +0.05% per 8h funding → APR ≈ +54.75%. Useful to know before a long-duration position: at strongly positive funding, a long eats itself within weeks if price doesn't move.
How to use
Short on extreme plus
Funding > +0.05% (APR > 54%) — longs are crowded, price near local high. A short-duration counter-position (hours–days) is historically considered one of the most reliable setups on top pairs.
Long on extreme minus
Funding < −0.05% — shorts overcrowded, panic. This regime often ends in a short squeeze. A limit long with a tight stop has better R/R than waiting for a chart reversal.
Don't overuse
Funding extreme is a necessary, not sufficient, condition. Also check OI (still building or already declining), spot volume, and the overall F&G sentiment.
FAQ
- Why is only one exchange shown per coin?
- We aggregate funding across exchanges (Binance, Bybit, OKX, KuCoin, BingX, Bitget, HTX, MEXC, Gate, HyperLiquid) and show the one with maximum |rate| — the strongest overheat. Per-exchange breakdown lives on the coin detail page.
- How often is it updated?
- Every minute. JustScreener scans all 4000+ USDT-M pairs across 10 exchanges every minute and surfaces fresh funding values in one place. The funding payment itself is usually settled every 8 hours (some venues — every hour or 4 hours).
- Why are some APRs at +1000% / −1000%?
- Extreme funding shows up on low-liquidity alt pairs, especially after pump events. You likely can't hold a position there — the order book is thin, slippage eats the profit. More useful — top pairs (BTC/ETH/SOL) where ±0.1% funding is already rare and a meaningful signal.
- How do I get an alert on extreme funding?
- In the dashboard → Funding Screener. JustScreener already scans all 4000+ USDT-M pairs across 10 exchanges every minute — you only set the |rate| threshold, no list of pairs to configure. A Telegram (or push, if enabled) notification fires the moment any pair crosses the threshold.
