Setting up the Custom Screener

The custom screener differs from the others by one rule, and it is worth learning before your first setup: every condition you turn on must be met at the same time. Not «price OR turnover» but «price AND turnover AND open interest» — within one window.
Everything else follows from that. Each condition you add makes the screener stricter, not richer; three conditions with thresholds borrowed from the standalone screeners will produce zero signals in a week. Thresholds here are set noticeably lower — the value comes from the coincidence, not from the strength of each condition on its own.

Custom screener conditions

Three conditions: open interest, price and turnover. Each has its own percentage and its own window. Turning on all three is optional — and usually unnecessary: the price + open interest pair already cuts almost all of the noise this screener exists for.
Windows can differ between conditions, and that is more useful than it looks. «Price +3% in 15 minutes while open interest grew 2% over an hour» describes a position that was being prepared in advance, not a reaction to news.

Limits: how many signals you are willing to read

The custom screener fires less often than the others, so limits look unnecessary. They are still needed: while the coincidence holds, the conditions are met on every subsequent check.

Filters: which coins to test the conditions on

Filters work the same way as in the other screeners, but the cost of a mistake is higher: strict thresholds together with strict filters produce a silence in which you cannot tell which part is to blame.

Ready-made setups

These are the same sets applied with one click in the screener settings. The values below are exactly what gets filled in.

"Golden Combo" (Long)

Price +3% · OI +1% · Volume +1.5%

Period
360
Pause between alerts per coin
360 min.
Which market to watch
all
Min. Open Interest Value
5 M $
Min. Exchange 24h Turnover
10 M $

Logic: Simultaneous rise in price, volume, and OI — the strongest bullish signal. Only for large caps.

Futures Momentum (Long)

Price +4% · OI +10% in 10 min

Period
240
Pause between alerts per coin
80 min.
Which market to watch
all
Min. Open Interest Value
3 M $
Min. Exchange 24h Turnover
5 M $

Logic: Price rises while futures positions are being added — trend backed by real money.

Spotting Reversal Down (Short)

Price −4% · OI +8% in 20 min

Period
360
Pause between alerts per coin
180 min.
Which market to watch
all
Min. Open Interest Value
4 M $
Min. Exchange 24h Turnover
8 M $

Logic: Price drops but OI rises — traders are actively shorting, selling pressure increases.

Breakout Confirmation with Volume

Price +6% · Volume +40% in 30 min

Period
240
Pause between alerts per coin
60 min.
Which market to watch
all
Min. Open Interest Value
0 M $
Min. Exchange 24h Turnover
4 M $

Logic: Price breaks a level with a volume surge — confirms the breakout; suitable for long entry.

Any set is a starting point, not a recommendation. Once applied the thresholds are yours: move them and the screener starts counting the new way immediately.

Common mistakes when setting up the custom screener

  • Thresholds copied from the standalone screeners. Three conditions at 5% each is not a strict screener, it is a disabled one.
  • Expecting OR logic. If you want independent signals on price and on turnover, that is two separate screeners, not one custom screener.
  • Windows too far apart. A «price per minute» condition together with «turnover over four hours» will almost never line up: events of different scale rarely land in the same check.
