Three situations the screener catches

Long squeeze

Longs outnumber shorts by 2× or more, funding is positive, open interest is climbing, price is flat → longs are paying for a position that is not moving.

Short squeeze

Shorts outnumber longs by 2× or more, funding is negative, open interest is climbing → fuel for a move up if price turns against the shorts.

Confidence floor

Setup score below your threshold — no signal. You only see cases where all four signs line up, not just one.

How it works

We read the positioning

Every 5 minutes we pull the long-to-short ratio for the most liquid pairs. Anything older than 15 minutes is not used — the screener stays quiet instead.

We combine four signs

Position skew, funding cost for the crowded side, hourly open-interest build, and whether price is stalling. Each contributes to a score from 0 to 100.

We send the numbers

The message carries the direction, the position ratio with its source exchange, funding, the setup score, and the nearest stop cluster.

Questions about liquidation cascades

Is a score of 78 out of 100 the probability of a cascade?
No. It is the weighted sum of four observable signs: position skew, funding cost, open-interest build, and a stalling price. There are no outcome statistics behind it, so calling it a probability would be wrong.
Where does the long-to-short ratio come from?
From public Binance data, and from Bybit for pairs Binance does not list. The source is always named in the message: positioning comes from one venue, while open interest, funding and price are read from your own exchanges.
What does "nearest stops" mean?
It is the 24-hour price extreme — the level where stops and liquidation orders usually cluster. It is not a cascade calculation: we have no liquidation heatmap, and deriving one from open interest without leverage data would be made up.
How often do signals arrive?
At most once every 4 hours per pair. That is the window in which the setup plays out; repeating the same case sooner is noise.
