When OI grows fast, smart money is positioning. Catch the move before it hits the chart — confirm a trend or spot a reversal.
Two scenarios, one signal
OI ↑ & Price ↑
STRONG TRENDNew money is opening longs in line with the move. Trend is healthy, momentum is real, and continuation is more likely than reversal.
OI ↑ & Price ↓
SQUEEZE SETUPAggressive new shorts piling in as price falls. Watch for a long-squeeze cleanup or sharp reversal once shorts crowd.

How to read the Telegram alert
Every line in the message has a job. Here is what each row tells you when an OI signal lands in Telegram or push.
-
1
Pair & exchange
Symbol (e.g. SOLUSDT) and the venue the spike is on. Tap the symbol to open it in your dashboard.
-
2
OI change
The actual % move in open interest over your chosen interval — what fired the signal.
-
3
Price & 24h change
Current price and the 24-hour move. Use it instantly to read direction (with-trend or divergence).
-
4
24h turnover
Helps weed out illiquid signals — a real OI build on healthy turnover is far more tradeable than a 1M-cap micro spike.
-
5
Detection window
The interval the screener used (e.g. "+15% in 30m") so you instantly know how recent and how sharp the move is.

Scalping on Early Interest
+5% in 5 minLogic: Catch the earliest OI spikes in smaller coins — rising OI can precede or accompany the start of a move.
Trend Confirmation (Swing/Mid-term)
+20% in 4 hoursLogic: Focus on large caps where significant capital entered over half a day — confirms a sustainable trend.
OI / price divergence (squeeze setup)
OI ↑ vs price ↓ in 30 minLogic: base OI trigger is off — only divergence fires. OI↑ while price↓ = traders are stacking shorts (dump prep or future squeeze). OI↓ while price↑ = squeeze already unwinding. 30-min window, OI ≥ 5%, price ≥ 1%, liquid alts only.
OI impulse + divergence
+8% in 15 minLogic: combo. Base scenario at 8% / 15 min catches sharp OI spikes; an additional divergence layer (60 min, OI ≥ 4%, price ≥ 1.5%) surfaces slower mismatches. One screener covers both fast impulse and reversal setup.
Frequently asked questions
- What is open interest in crypto futures?
- Open interest (OI) is the total number of unsettled futures contracts on a given pair. Rising OI = new positions are being opened (fresh money entering); falling OI = positions are being closed. Tracking the delta is one of the cleanest leading signals in crypto — money usually moves before price does.
- How quickly does the screener notice an OI change?
- Every 60 seconds the screener pulls fresh OI from 10 exchanges and re-evaluates your rule. End-to-end you typically see the notification 10–15 seconds after the change crosses your threshold (2–5s to sweep + analysis + delivery).
- Can I limit alerts to specific coins?
- Yes. Each preset has min-OI and min-volume thresholds — push them up and only large caps will reach you. You can also whitelist specific symbols and disable exchanges you do not trade in General Settings.
- What % threshold makes sense for scalping vs swing?
- Scalping: 5% over 5–15 minutes on small/mid caps catches early impulses. Swing: 15–20% over 1–4 hours on majors catches confirmed trend builds. Start with the bundled "Scalp on early interest" and "Trend confirmation" presets and tune from there.
- Why does OI grow without price moving?
- Because traders are stacking positions on both sides — usually shorts piling in while longs hold, or vice versa. That is the squeeze-setup pattern (OI ↑, price flat or down): pressure is building without resolution. The screener flags it via the OI/price divergence preset.
- Is there a free tier?
- Free 4-day trial with full access — no card. After that PRO is paid; STANDARD gives one signal per day.
Additional filters · same for every screener
Five noise-reducers that sit alongside the screener parameters. Tune them once and forget — they apply to every signal you get.
- Minimum current open interest Skip coins with low OI to avoid signals on micro-caps with no real positions.
- Minimum current 24h turnover Cut out illiquid pairs — only get signals on coins with real trading activity.
- Watch only my Favorites Limit the scan to the coins you starred — useful when you trade a focused list.
- Skip blocked coins Permanently exclude coins from your blocklist — they will not generate signals on any screener.
- Max signals per coin per interval (15 min – 24 h) Anti-spam by ticker: cap how many signals one coin can generate over your chosen window.
