Funding rate
The funding rate is a periodic payment between longs and shorts of a perpetual future that keeps its price close to spot.

How to read it
A positive rate means longs pay shorts and the market leans long; a negative rate is the reverse. Exchanges settle funding every 1, 4 or 8 hours, so rates must be compared on the same interval.
