The longer RSI holds above 70, the stronger the trend — not the closer the reversal
What it means
Buyers dominate. A common mistake is reading overbought as a sell signal: in a strong trend RSI lives above 70 for weeks. It works better as a filter: a long on a coin already in this zone has missed the cheap part of the move.
Common mistakes
- RSI above 70 on its own gives neither an entry nor an exit
- On thin pairs the indicator pins at 80–90 and stays there while the pump lasts

Overbought confirms buyer strength, not the end of the move. If RVOL is 2 or higher as well, the coin lands in the "Overheated" setup — where the risk of a sharp reversal is already higher than usual.
