Why spot differs from futures
Spot trading is buying crypto «as is» — real money, real delivery of the token to your wallet. It is the base market: it forms the reference price for derivatives — perpetual futures, options, ETFs.
Spot has no open interest (there are no open positions — just coin ownership) and no funding (no payment between contract sides). What it does have is direct order-book liquidity. These pages aggregate spot data across 9 major exchanges to show where a coin really trades and what its actual 24h turnover is.
