Leverage calculator
Position size, quantity and an approximate liquidation from margin and leverage — with the coin’s live price.
Result
This estimate ignores fees, margin mode and a venue’s maintenance rate. Not a trade recommendation.
How it is calculated
Leverage scales both the position and the risk: $1,000 of margin at ×10 opens a $10,000 position, but a 10% loss on it already equals the whole margin.
The higher the leverage, the closer the liquidation: at ×10 a 10% move against you is enough, at ×20 just 5%. The estimate is approximate — no fees or a venue’s maintenance rate.
FAQ
How does leverage affect position size?
Position size equals margin times leverage. $1,000 of margin at ×10 is a $10,000 position.
At what price move does liquidation happen?
Roughly at a 1/leverage move against you: ×10 near 10%, ×20 near 5%. The exact price is set by the exchange with fees and the maintenance rate.
Why is the liquidation price approximate?
The calculation ignores fees, the margin mode and a venue’s maintenance rate, which shift liquidation. This is the order of magnitude, not the exact exchange value.
