Layer 2 networks process transactions cheaper and faster than Ethereum and record the final state on it. Value on the network is the sum of assets brought into the L2: it shows where users and money are right now.
The stage shows a network’s maturity: at stage 0 the safety of funds largely depends on the team, at stages 1 and 2 on Ethereum’s own mechanisms.
How to read it
Value and its trend
Value growing over a week means users and money flowing into the network.
Token and network differ
An L2 token’s price does not have to follow the value on its network: many tokens have no direct link to network revenue.
Stage
The higher the stage, the less you need to trust the network’s operators.

What is an L2?
A network on top of Ethereum that processes transactions itself and publishes results to Ethereum. Transactions are cheaper while security relies on the main chain.
What is value on the network?
The sum of all assets brought into the network — bridged, native and external — in dollars.
How often does the data update?
Every 15 minutes.
